The un cut roughs were mown down then chemically controlled or burned this winter and have now started to grow back. Some of the dead material is lying flat still and there is some unwanted lateral growth amongst the desirable grasses.
The farmer who lives bedside the course was very kind to loan us his agricultural rake. as a result all of the roughs were raked in around 4 hours. Most of this dead material will now de compose or blow away and disperse allowing the roughs to grow tall and whispy.
