After only 3 days the Yorkshire fog patches on the 1st fairway were turning brown, The grass plant takes up any chemical and uses it a lot faster at this time of year. 8 days on and the entire fairway has a ‘linksy’ look to it. The fairways were sprayed a few days apart due to windy weather so the latter holes are a few days behind.
Many of the good grasses, bents, fescues and poa (not so much of a problem on fairways) are looking stressed after the application and also having an overseeder cut through them, these should start to pick up in 3-4 weeks time. The lies on the fairways are still nice and preferred lies will come in to play should they deteriorate at all, It is more aesthetic just now.
